My other one has a Marble’s tang sight. This one is different. What is it?

Referring to the tang sight?  Lyman #1.  If not too worn, may be able to find 1884 pat date on stem.  Home-made rear sight slot filler, but shooter had good sense to remove sight when tang sight was added.

I think the front sight has an ivory bead. Maybe it came with special sights?

Thanks for the information Clarence. I’m tempted to get a letter for the gun now, to see if it was special ordered, if such info would be on a letter!

Appears part of the original Jan 28, ’79 pat date, though the sight itself is the later 1884 improvement. Lyman wasn’t consistent in how markings were applied, sometimes omitting the Lyman name itself.
