I just recently picked up a 9422 mag XTR with high grade finish. It has a couple pretty deep but small scratches on the butt stock. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what Winchester used as a clear coat on these guns. I would like to fix the two scratches but they are deep enough I am afraid I would not be able to rub them out. I have had some success with a polyurethane filling a small scratch then rubbing it out but if you use the wrong material you can do a lot of damage real fast.
