OfflineI got a nice 62a from my brother in law. The numbers don’t match. But the interesting thing is that the locking lugs don’t notch into the sides of the receiver. I’ve looked at around 100 photos online and every gun has notches in the top front of the receiver, mine is flat. Does anyone know what I have?

OfflineIt sounds like you most likely have an 1890 or an early 1906 with a replacement 62A barrel, or the front half of a 62A on the rear tang of a 1890 or early 1906. The serial numbers will tell us everything.
Either way it is a “Frankenchester” but should operate and shoot just fine as long as the lifter is for a S, L and LR to match the barrel marking.
