Wjh:

Not sure of the rarity but I think the round barrel L. rifle value is around 3/4 of the octagon barreled one. At least that is what I will be asking for mine at the Cody show in July. Maybe too low, maybe too high. Will see how it goes at the show.

I still believe these type of rude first inquires are bots. I am seeing these types of questions on other forums as well.

It would be nice if there was a way to identify the Bot posts.

Not being a computer nerd or experienced in this field, it sure seems to me we could have this.

Yes, it was a poorly written question but I believe he had a valid question.

Rarity? Who knows, since there are no records of variations available within the model 61, it is only a guess. A person unfamiliar with the model 61 may think that records are available for the different variations.

Value difference between the round barrel 22 L. Rifle and the octagon barrel 22 L. Rifle is a valid question. Here it is again, only opinions, but we see a lot of people follow the auctions, gun shows and other areas and they have a good comparison. Gee I see opinions on these forums all the time ( Ford versus Dodge etc).

So let’s not get down on a guest post for poorly worded questions. My explanation is also poorly written.

I try to get directly to the ? Have only seen a couple .22 L rifle stamped round barrels in years ,many more octagons ,that doesn’t mean it’s more rare , I assumed it would be worth less but not a clue how much less

thanks for your replies
