Yep i already have. But i gotta say they just both felt better to handle and shoot before scoping. But to see targets out to fifty yards and know where i’m shooting that’s what had to be done. I noticed my eyes just aren’t getting any younger. I didn’t scope the 52b, it has a nice lyman rear sight on it, and the 1890 also has a Lyman WS tang sight on it.
My eyes have been bad all my life. That’s why I never became a Sheriff or SDPD Officer. My right eye is 2400 uncorrected and was that bad when I applied to become a lawman. At the range, I asked the instructor why I could not get on the force. He said if I lost my glasses in a firefight I could not hit anything.
I then loaded my High Standard Victor, took off my glasses, and put 10 rds. into the 10 ring at 25 yards.
After joining the San Diego Sheriffs Reserve, at the end of the academy, we had a shoot off. Both instructors shot a 149 and I was the only man in the class to shoot a 150 possible. Did it with a K-38.
I am not so sure of this eye thing. I am 75 years old and can still hit the broad side of a barn. Big Larry
