Chasing someone off the grass with either gun in Canada would probably result in the Model 1897 being put on the banned gun list since it falls within the definition of a “military style assault weapon” and probably more so than some of the modern plastic junk that are now on the list. So far the old ’97 is under the radar.

That’s really nice. Is it yours? A few years ago, I bought a M1897 US marked Trenchgun from our friend Felix Bedlan. It was actually drippy mint. I paid him $4,000 for it and sold it for $13,000. Even my friend, Eric Archer, said it was the nicest US marked M1897 Trenchgun he ever saw or heard of. Big Larry

It is mine just bought that bayonet cut down 1917. It looks like it was cut back in the day. I have some full size but that one had a mission

Never seen a M1917 bayonet cut like that. Lots of M1905 bayonets were cut, but won’t fit on the M97 Trenchgun adapter. Is that gun cartouched? Big Larry

The bayonet is not the gun I made it from a gun that was stored in a case upside down I guess the first 6” of the barrel was toast.I think it always wanted to be a trench gun as good as it came out.
