Bill-
RCBS refurbished an old and very well used Pro-Melt casting furnace for a nominal cost a few years ago, sent me a replacement scale for my Chargemaster powder scale/dispenser (told me to trash the old one!) and once while I was asking them about another matter I mentioned I had just used my last spare decapping pin so they dropped some in the mail to me gratis. On another occasion (or two) that I can’t recall they provided excellent customer service. One rep even recalled talking with me on another occasion weeks later. I’m hoping that level of customer service is maintained.
I’m generally awake around 5A but bedtime comes early; I’ve generally taken a porcelain pot shot or two by 2A. I like my doc visits and workouts early, that way it’s all over before the caffeine kicks in.

As Mike said, RCBS isn’t what it used to be! Dies used to be stockpiled and often in esoteric calibers, so no need for special production for me. Also they did “warranty” work that I didn’t think needed to be honored as warranty work. Example, my first Rock Chucker press got a bit of play in the ram, which I felt may contribute to extra variance in loaded brass dimensions. Sent it in and they rebored and rebushed it so there is no play. Charge? NONE. “Warranty”. Now if its not a request for a .223 die or such, its not available and please don’t call again. Such a difference from the “old” days. Tim
Mike Hunter at Hunter Restorations restored a severely sanded, sawed-off ’86 some years ago for me, which included fitting a spanking new, full octagon .45-90 barrel. The result was a gorgeous thing of beauty. You can check his website to see if making and fitting barrels is still an option. If you click on “check his website” in the previous sentence, it will take you directly to his website.

Tim, I haven’t had the opportunity to experience RCBS customer service lately. All my experience has been awesome but I’m concerned about what I’m hearing.
