OfflineI have to agree with Mike on this. I have no prejudice on the .32 Special. I DO have a positive prejudice on the .33 Win! Anyway, I got out of my models 1894 for the most part some years ago. The Eastern carbine in .32 Special was hard to get out of without being hurt too much, and it was in pretty nice shape, too. Even had a couple boxes of factory new ammo to go with it. The .32-40 was in lower condition, older, sold much easier. Also a carbine which was not common. For that, I also like looking at the nice examples shown on this thread, regardless of being any particular caliber. Tim

OfflineI don’t know why the 32ws isn’t as popular as other calibers the 94 is chambered for. Probably because it’s a close cousin to the 30wcf? But as Mike mentioned you can occasionally find a nice condition 32 at a discounted price. Maybe someday as time goes by it will be as desirable as the other calibers.

The only reason I don’t own a 32 SPL or the 33 is because they aren’t antique. Except the rare few that Bert mentioned. In this State it is way better for me to have antiques. Buy and sell whenever and however I wish. I have no problems with the calibers.
I agree 100%. If both had come out only a few years earlier, they would be antique. It’s the only drawback I see in both calibers.

OfflineAs much as I love all the talk about 33wcf and it’s little cousin, the 32 WS, I have to turn this thread back a bit. I just got back from the auction house, where I purchased the 30wcf deluxe that had some problems. I am hear to say I am the proud owner of a check in the full amount for the gun. That’s right, they graciously took the thing back. I arrived about 1045 and met with the president of the company. We exchanged greetings and mentioned the nice cold snap we got here now and went right to work. We went to a bench, pulled out a set of screwdrivers and I told him my thoughts. He proceeded to remove the butt plate and the stock. He immediately agreed the stock was a replacement. I also told him what I had found with the fore stock and my assessment of said piece of wood. He immediately offered a full refund, which I gladly accepted, and he apologized up and down for the mistake.
This gun will be seen again, I am sure, but he did state the write up WILL include the fact the wood is replaced. I believe him. I know we all want to hold the gun in our hands before buying, I get that. He and his team also want to hold it before selling. But we both agreed that when your processing nearly 2000 guns for a 3 day auction things can be missed. I was very grateful for his honesty and integrity. I will not hold anything against him or his people or his company.

Thanks for sharing the end result and it is nice to know there are still some good, honest ethical folks still out. Getting far too rare in my opinion! Congrats on the positive outcome!

OfflineThanks for the update, Tom. I was hoping things would go your way. I’m glad the auction house understands the proper way of doing business.
