And not a gun either. I picked up an old metal cabinet last week to use to store some of my reloading tools and supplies. The faux woodgrain gives it the right look for my vault. I’ve been looking for just the right size cabinet for years. Now I can use my ammo cabinet for completed ammunition once again.
Ain’t that slick! Looks like it was made to hold double columns of index cards, which, when fully loaded, makes the drawer heavier than a fairy’s wings. I dropped one on my foot once and saw stars. But great for what you’re doing.
I’m planning to add cabinets for my reloading gear as part of a dormer finish out. As soon as I get the paneling up. This gives me ideas because multiple drawers are a lot better for organizing a lot of little stuff than open shelving.
Unfotunately, as the general contractor/trim carpenter/cabinet maker/hod carrier/painter/electrician, It’s easy to give change orders to myself that are tough to do in workmanlike fashion. I’ve learned not to do plumbing and am fast learning I shouldn’t do floors…

Great storage idea, but what I’d like to find is a wooden library card-catalog cabinet–they’ve all been thrown out, tens of thousands of them, since libraries became computerized! I’ve heard that some were given to library staff, but sad to consider most were probably hauled to a city dump.

That is a cool find! Solid brass hardware, supported drawers. I’ll bet by the time you get organized you’ll wish you had another matching cabinet!

I like it, nearly perfect for reloading tools and components. Much better than the cardboard shoe organizers that attempt to organize my moulds and components. Will keep an eye out for some! I’ve been watching for the card file cabinets we used to find in libraries but other hobbyists seem to like them too.

I found one of those years ago and turned it into a spice cabinet for my wife’s kitchen. It is about the same size but has individual drawers and is on casters. My late step dad used to work at a GM plant and get stuff like this for free all the time.
