Man it’s just hard to beat a couple of good looking ’94’s. Here’s a pair I found just begging to come home with Me, so here they are. Ser#131488 , 26″ 1/2o.b., t.d., 1/2 mag., p.g., chkrd., xx wood, cres. butt and 3 Lyman sites. All the assembly #’s match. The letter only states ser# app. date, Nov. 8 1901 and shipping date Nov. 30 1901, nothing else. This gun is not proof marked and The gun is 100% correct. It has a big “S” stamped under the fore end on the barrel. Possibly a salesmans gun, I did say possibly. Ser#326228, 24″ r.b., xtra lite, takedown, 1/2 mag., p.g., chkrd., rubber butt pl., s.g.b., oil finish, xx wood and it all letters as is. Both guns are .30 w.c.f. and both are in exc.+ original cond. No drooling please.
W.A.C.A. life member, Marlin Collectors Assn. charter and life member, C,S.S.A. member and general gun nut.
I have a M1894 SRC 30-30, shipped 7-13-1906, # 306366. Letter says nothing special but shipped with one other like carbine.
My carbine has the proof mark up in front of the rear ladder sight. Usually, they are close to the receiver. I have not seen too many
with then proof in that location. Nice rifles BTW. Big Larry

Nice looking guns Henry. Next time pull back just a few inches when you take the pictures. If you get to close the camera can’t focus.
Henry,
Please check the patent date marking on the barrel of the ELW rifle (S/N 326228), as it is in the range where some barrels were marked erroneously with the August 14th date versus August 21. If it has the August 14 patent date marking, I would like to get a clear picture of it for my research records.

Good call, Henry. I’m glad you were able to find room in your heart (and your safe) for these poor orphans. I know many of us would like to think we would have done the same but you were there at the right time and did the right thing. All kidding aside, nicely done! You must have some great contacts to find these spectacular rifles. Congrats and thanks for sharing!
Mike
Bert no such luck, I already checked for the Aug. 14 pat.date, it’s Aug.21. I do have ser#351112 s.r.c. with the Aug. 14 pat. date, which I think You already have. Yes Michael I’ve been doing this for about 55 years so yes I do know a lot of people, in both countries, and Their guns.

Thanks for checking. I currently have (56) total in my survey with the Patent date error, of which (3) are ELW Rifles.
