I picked this up at my local Cabelas yesterday. DOM 1939 (serial number 1214848) with the “W” marked under the serial number on the receiver. Gun is in near new condition and has hardly been fired, yet alone carried–amazing for 81 years old. I normally go for the older 1894’s, but I think I stole it for only $679.00. However, what normally takes about 20-30 minutes for the background check, took 11 days (I was over 4,600 in line for the background check here in Oregon). It sucked having to wait so long to bring home my new treasure, but on the other hand, I’m sure glad to see the overwhelming support of citizens practicing their 2nd amendment rights.
Bert,
Do you have this one in your survey?
Don
Don,
You stole that Winchester… I hope you feel very guilty about it!!
I did not have it listed in the survey (yet), but I did have S/N 1214849… a 30 WCF Carbine that was owned and used by the Topeka KS Police Department (Car 84).

No guilt here–even talked them down $20 off the original price. Actually, I do feel bad for the person that got ripped when they sold it to Cabelas. Probably only got $400 to $500 for it. S/N 1214849 sure sounds like an interesting one.

Don,What a great deal you got on that 94. Most of the time Cabelas is way over priced. But every once in a while a bargain does show up. Congrats on a great model 94.

Thanks All. I’ve gotten a few good guns at decent prices from Cabelas over the years, but I believe this has been the best deal. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of rhyme or reason when it comes to their pricing. It was slim pickings but they did have a couple other beater Winchesters (extra holes, etc) that were actually priced higher than this gem. It’s nice to get lucky sometimes.

Great deal. Now you have to keep looking over your shoulder for the Gun Police. I have # 1264772, and it has the “w”. I paid substantially more a few years back, but here in Utah, we don’t have to put up with all the bull. I have a C&R too, so there are no added fees. Nice Carbine. Big Larry
