Sealed box of 32-20 from the german company RWS. Anyone knows how old it is?
Open box of 38 WCF from RWS too. I have no idea how old it is. It don’t have the name “Winchester” on it?
Box of 30-30 from US Cartridge
I do not know too much of it. I am looking forward to more information.
Greetings from Germany
Stefan
Neat to see those German boxes. I noticed the top box is still using “Central-Fire”. Interesting stuff!

Here are some boxes I have found the last few years related to the 1894. They aren’t as rare or old as some of the ones you posted but maybe this will get some other members to post some more photos if they can, or maybe you have some more pictures of your collection:
The two bottom 30 WCF boxes are still sealed. Did they make a lot of full patch loadings for government use in the teens or something?
32-40 and 38-55. I hardly ever see any kind of two piece box of 32-40 at the gun shows around this area.
This box is in a “archival bag” that can’t be shrunk with a heat gun. All the lines and tape you see are on the bag. Experimented with these a couple years ago and I guess time will tell.
I only have two boxes of 25-35 and this is one of them. I don’t think this particular box is very common from what I’ve seen.
This one is obviously not a ’94 box but it was in really good shape and the label was real bright so it came home from a gun show too.
Great boxes Stefan. I like the 25-35 bullets. That box of 30 WCF with the sunburst label is a really nice one for sure!
I might just have you beat for a rough condition two-piece 1894 box however. I like it anyway and still have it because another WACA member gave me this box a few years ago and it had some old rounds in it…good conversation piece.

That 38-55 looks like an old cartridge box for sure.
Those two piece 25-35 Winchester boxes are neat and scarce. 25-35 anything seems hard for me to locate some times.

Hi Guys nice boxes. We dont see many in Canada. We have mostly CIL Dominion and Imperial (same company) Subsidiary of the English Co. At auction and gunshows 30’s-60s boxes are going up just lately .Till recently it was plentiful and sold cheap just for shooting. They held almost a monopoly on Ammo sales in Ontario anyway till the 70’s , and Us Canadians growing up with them are a little nostalgic , altho most of us trying to reload the brittle poor quality brass not so much . Anyway on the plus side ,if properly stored and igniting , it was loaded to the max for hunting and had sight-in and trajectory specs on the box. and the boxes look neat. Is there any following of this ammo in US ?
On the note of the 25-35, for shooters , the Win ammo is getting expensive. A better alternative may be the European designation 6.5 X 52 R Sellior Bellot makes. 117 SP . It is cheap if you can find it , about $20 for 20 . is very accurate and flat shooting as factory , and I have high hopes for it being good brass. I just started reloading it and dont have more than 3 loads assurance yet

That John Wayne ammo comming out (1981 I think) was a pleasant surprise to me, as 32-40 brass was long obsolete at that time. It is easier to obtain now when Winchester does the odd run. Back then I had a 94 RBR (1902 ) that I was shooting a fair bit , liked the cartridge, also bought the John Wayne Carbine . The ammo was $ 9.94 per box and I bought at least 25 .Still have about 4 left. Wish I had bought more and also not have shot most of my stash of it. Got lots of re-loads out of that brass , but actually prefer the reg Win brass, It goes thu my FLS die smoother. 32-40 has rotated back to my favorite Cal and have been shooting it a lot last couple years

This is an ultra rare box that also goes with my 50-95 Express high-wall. When I acquired it, it only had 12 of the original cartridges left in it. It took me nearly 3-years of hard diligent searching, but I finally filled it with eight more original shot cartridges, all with the identical head stamp (I actually found a ninth cartridge that I also bought). The label appears light in color because it faded out due to exposure over the past 120+ years. Still, it is an ultra rare box, and it is now 100% full.

Very cool boxes Bert. I can’t imagine there are too many of either floating around out there.

Brad,
I have complete boxes for all of my Model 1885 rifles. The box of WRACo 40-90 Ballard cartridges I have is quite rare as well. I have full complete WRACo boxes for my 40-70 Ballard high-wall, my 40-70 Sharps Straight, 38 Express (38-90), 40 Express (40-110), 45 Express (45-125), several boxes of 405 WCF, 22 WCF, 25-20 S.S., etc. Somewhere along the path, I became a WRACo cartridge collector and did not even realize it until I got all of them out of the safe one day to show them to a fellow collector… when I discovered I had more than 2-dozen full complete boxes and another dozen partials, it dawned on me that I was also a cartridge collector.
