After some lengthy negotiations, I was able to secure the 218 bee model 65 from WACA member Henry Mero. Made in 1938(Ser # 1004121). It’s in almost new condition and I rate it 98%+. It was the missing piece in another lineage I wanted to complete and fits the condition of the others. Bad lighting but still worth showing in a couple photos below. Thanks Henry.

Those matching showcases are what “makes” the display. Did you have them built or find them somewhere? Whichever, they are the best I’ve ever seen. Here’s something I had made close to 50 yrs ago by a custom display case maker who used to bring his cases to gunshows:
Very nice Clarence. The green or red backgrounds are my favorite.

Rick,
Congrats on acquiring your new (old) Model 65 218 Bee rifle! For your records, it was actually manufactured in late May or early June 1939. S/N 1004153 has been confirmed in the PR records as a June 10th, 1939 production 218 Bee rifle.

Thank you Bert and appreciate the correct DOM. I was using the post below but it was in 2017 so obviously updated since then.
Yes, it has been updated in more recent times. My many different research projects continue to provide new updates to many of the various historical aspects and information.

Very nice. That’s quite a collection you got going. What’s next?
Thanks Steve. I’m done for a while lol.
Many here have said that. Routinely
Haha yes many who know me Steve have heard it also. I spent the entire years budget on this 65, and 53 & 55 in the past 6 weeks, so being broke now is an understatement!

Rick – now you need to start adding checkered examples – the hard one is the 53.

I think the 65 should be under the 53 and then bump the other two down, keep the progressions together. Just sayin.
Or, put the 53 & 55 above the 65 & 64. Another option would be the 53 & 65 and then the 55 & 64.

Very nice, indeed, Rick! Thanks for taking time to display and share them, regardless of the “correct” order. These days I only have room (and funds!) for the 92’s and 94’s but the cousins are sure fun to look at.

Thanks Mike. I was the same with collecting the original models & the cousins not a serious consideration. Now, I like them just as much.

Rick –
But doesn’t it make you want to chuckle – how you are able to trade scraps of paper – for something as fine as these rifles
