Greetings twobit
TXgunnut passed word to me about your research.
Not sure if I contacted you previously about the 92’s I have been associated with down here. All are 44 WCF except one nasty butchered SRC that was missing majors parts and re-chambered to 9mm.
Oldest I have enjoyed was a second year SRC that had been well worn (serial almost completely gone)and sadly badly maintained.
There was another SRC’s from 1902 I think. Again well used but in better maintained condition.
There was a 1892 rifle round barrel 44 WCF that was well used but had a descent bore. Wood a bit rough.
Another 92 was a legitimate “short rifle”. From 1923. This one was the best of all I have seen down here.
The only one with me right now is a well used SRC #5096xx. Has that little “Mod. 1892 ” stamped behind the hammer. Sadly was reblued. Muzzle badly worn by improper cleaning. Stocks have loss and butt 6 small nails added. But stocks still have original finish. No ladder rear sight but a later folding type.
