I forgot to share when I bought it…. SN 52586, circa OCT 1942. Thought I’d finally get a high condition Winchester and got lucky with this one (I think @ $3850). Took it outside for some pics but had to hurry and get it back inside due to the condensation…

Very nice and Skeet choked to boot! Looks nearly new, high condition indeed! Good thing it’s chambered for 2 1/2” shells, I’d be tempted to shoot it.

I use The Red Book as a guide for “value” and saw that the select wood, 2 1/2″ skeet was valued quite a bit higher than the 3″ modified plain barrel that I purchased a few years ago, so I didn’t feel bad about the final price.

I have plenty of 2 1/2″ .410 ammunition. In fact, I still have an old MEC 600 JR that I didn’t convert to 3″. This particular shotgun probably won’t get shot or if I do, it’ll be extremely deliberate and sparingly. There aren’t marks on the action showing that it’s been worked much at all and nothing indicating the take down has been worked more than a few times, maybe…
