However I have a lot of nice 94,s to go along with My other 94 trappers etc. Hope all is well with everyone. Harry

Bert yes it is nichol steel
Henry,
That is exactly what I expected that it would be. Your Carbine is in a batch of other Model SRCs, all in 38-55, and all with “Nickel Steel” marked barrels. Thus far, I have the following (5) serial numbers in identical configuration to your Carbine;
1100199
1100275
1100276
1100312
1100745

Harry,
Looks like you got some really nice ones there. The 38-55 in 99+%, and the brand new 30 wcf with booklet and hang tag seem to be exceptional guns. Is the tag on the .30wcf the banner wrapped around the stock?
Thanks,
Al
No , the hang tag is exactly that, actually it is a little envelope about 4″ by 21/2″ that says “This envelope contains information and instructions for the owner of this WINCHESTER trade mark (do not detach),” and on the back “use WINCHESTER ammunition in WINCHESTER guns they are made for each other”. The little instruction book is blue about 4″x3 1/2″. The other gun I happened to aquire is ser# 244967 22″ 1/2 o.b -extra lite -1/2 mag. p. g.- checkered-rubber s.g.b. takedown- oil fin.- lyman fr & rear sites, It has 11 factory xtras,12 if you count the xxx wood. This gun is in app. 98% orig. cond. and was sold a few years back at Rock Island I believe. It has been to Ontario, out to Alberta and back to Ontario and now rests in My rack. This is probably the nicest ’94 deluxe rifle I have ever had . Harry

Bert On ,94 rifle ser# 244967 on the upper tang, left side under the stock are the very small initials J.P.P.. Any hints as to what they are .
Henry,
Do you have a factory letter or research sheet for this rifle? If not, you should contact the CFM and get one.
In answer to your question, your ELW was sent back to Winchester for rework.

That sounds like a nice rifle Henry. I have a couple of 22 inch Model 1894’s. Do you have photos of it?

The photos are not in it anymore, but here was the post I made – with a lot of info explaining JPP, etc, etc – just after I brought this rifle into Canada:

It is a fine rifle Harry, glad it has made its way back East, bit closer to me…
Harry, I can post some photos of the rifle for you after Christmas if you like, believe I still have them on my computer.
