Just got another nice rifle from Merz. A nice , 95% M55 Solid Frame # 1076415, PR dated 7-6-31. Most of the M55’s are in poor condition due to the metal of the day, but this one is very nice. It has Redfield bbl. sights front and back. I wonder if this was an option? No extra holes either. Good folks to do business with. This is my 4th gun I have bought from them. Bert, if you read this, let me know about the sights, as if they are not original, I plan to replace them with a 22-H and a Lyman #3 gold bead. Thanks, Big Larry

Larry,
For what it is worth, I have never seen a Model 55 with Redfield sights.

They match the condition of the rifle, but I think I am going to change them out for a 22-H or 22-C and a Lyman #3 with brass bead.
My other M55 takedown has a 22-C Flat top and #3. I got it fr4om your friend Larry Shennum. Thanks, Big Larry

Hi Vince. Since they went to the new way of posting pics, I have been unable to do it. The old way still works on the Rimfire Forum.
I am computer illiterate so I need detailed instructions. I have lots and lots of pictures to post. Thanks, Big Larry
Larry,
Call me tomorrow early afternoon.., I can talk you through the process of posting pictures on the WACA forums.

You know I am a former Marine. I just read where a pistol team member from the 50’s wrote in and asked if the Marines were doing anything for hearing protection now as they hade NONE in those days. He went to the VA Hospital and they told him he qualified for free hearing aids as there was no protection in those days. My Dad, also a member of the 50’s Marine Team, already wore a hearing aid and when he took my Sister and I out shooting, we stuffed cotton in our 12 year old ears. My hearing is failing too.
