OfflineI wanted to show off for a minute here. I bought this 92 src about a year ago. Great gun. But I recently found this box of ammo and I thought it was from 1920. Low and behold it it date stamped 1926, the same year as my SCR! Only thing better would be consecutive serial numbers!

OnlineDang! Tom, you keep falling into the butter dish. Get yourself down here (when it cools off. Dallas in July is what Gen’l Sherman was talking about) so I can follow you into a couple of RIA auctions.
It will be cool enough to shoot some traps or Skeet and I’ll even loan you a shotgun so you don’t have to risk yours to the baggage smashers.

Bill, I am planning a trip down in december for a few days. I plan to drive down and bring my K-80 for us to shoot, including Mike and Jeremy. Not sure if hogs are in season then, but if they are maybe we can do a little of that too. Let me know and I will bring some pork stickers! Thinking a 33 wcf and a 45-90 might just do the them some good.

That’s a terrific pair. I have to ask. Has the rifle been re-blued or redone? It looks great and I know there’s stigma to some but definitely not all. If I had the combination I’d build a wall case and display them together.
No it is not refinished including the wood. here is a couple pics of the gun. And yes I shoot it and yes I hunted with it last year. Whacked a spike horn with it in mid November.

OfflineNice score, Tom! Hogs are a feral/invasive species in Texas so all you need is a non-resident hunting license and a place to hunt. Let me know what dates you are looking at, am looking forward to busting some clays but will have to do some inquiries on hogs. I think we can come up with a thumper or two to deal with the piggies if we find a place to hunt.

Mike and Bill, my idea is to come down for the RIA auction in december. Maybe they will offer up the free hotel rooms again? But anyway a trip to Texas is a bucket list thing for me and hunting hogs would be a thrill. Not as big as shooting trap or skeet with you and Bill and Jeremy tho. I will keep you posted as by then I am hoping, as Bill would say ” shedding the harness”.
PS I can bring a couple thumpers for them piggies!

Indeed, nice looking carbine and ammo box.
In Texas you dont need a hunting license to hunt hogs on private land (+ owner permission), only on public land. Instead of shooting those pigs with that 92, try a M12 or the like out of a helicopter. There are a couple places in the DFW area that provide that service for hogs/coyotes, its about $2500 a person.
