Fascinating document! But because, over 60 yrs after the event, I can still make out the scar in my wrinkled skin resulting from a .22 LR dropped into a camp fire, I find the “blow-pipe” test quite incredible. (Esp. the amazing fortitude of the “expert”!) I assume the difference is that the burning paper shells released gas pressure before an explosion could occur.
