I just acquired a real nice model 1892: semi deluxe, “I” checkering, pistol grip, octagon barrel, full mag, crescent butt, 32 wcf. serial number 147842.

Everything letters, even lyman front and rear sights. Here are some pictures:::

The Lyman tang sight is missing, and as you can see, it looks as though it was never on the gun. Do you know where I can acquire a proper Lyman tang sight for this?

I posted this in the survey forum also.

“Real nice” is an understatement.  That’s a beautiful rifle.  Congratulations!

Hello Al,

Congrats on the rifle.  I also bid on it but had just purchased two other rifles so I was a bit short on $$.  And I am supposedly “cutting back” on my habit!  Glad that it found a worthy home.

Michael,

Thanks, I need a Lyman tang sight for it. What model sight would I need, do you have one to match the condition of this rifle that you would part with?

The proper Lyman tang sight would be the Lyman No. 1 Combination Tang Sight- Second Variation with a “D” code marked on the underside of the sight base. It will have the hairspring locking devise as apposed to the later thumb locking devise.  RDB
