Very nice! Taking an ugly old 38-55 hunting shortly, love those old 94’s!

Brown guns need lovin too………. I have several that look like that and they are just nice examples of original, honest wear guns. Nice early 38-55 you have there.
Gary, I agree. There was a time when I avoided brown Winchesters but I love them now as long as they have good wood, few metal dings and sound barrels. This rifle is “tight” and the barrel well cared for. Being my first 38-55, I look forward to shooting it when the ammo arrives manana. Unfortunately, it appears previous owners got into my pop’s tool drawer and borrowed his worn out Craftsman screwdiriver! I wonder what they were looking for?

Big Larry, that is a beautiful 38-55 SRC. I’ve had one from 1907 that was pretty nice, but yours looks about new.Regarding brown guns …. I like them too. They have their own appeal in the form of history they have earned.
The carbine is virtually new, but has some spotting coming through on the receiver. I remember seeing a few 38-55 carbines at some of the Las Vegas shows and they were always to expensive. I paid through the nose for this one and I plan on keeping it forever. I have two nice 38-55 rifles, one is that 1/2 octagon rifle and the other a nice 1916 vintage standard oct. bbl. rifle. It too has some spotting, but in nearly new condition. I love the caliber. Very accurate and a great Deer and Elk killer. Big Larry
