SN# 2075 in .308 Winchester
I would guess the original stock may have cracked and a previous owner replaced it with a pre-64 stock but with the rounded recoil block instead of the clover leaf- who knows? Regardless, it’s a very clean 88 and the stock has crisp checkering and only a few light impressions. The finish I would guess at > 95%. I was able to hit an 8″ square 3/3 times, standing at 100 yards, so it’s minute of deer accurate.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

…and now it sports a receiver sight. Took a little bit of patience to find one in the same condition as the rifle but I finally found one This has the knobs instead of the screws for adjustment.
That sight will undoubtedly help to improve your accuracy with that rifles. Please show us a picture(s) with it mounted.
