1886 r1886 l

Recently acquired an 1886 takedown rifle in 33 WCF. The barrel is 23 1/4 inches, the stock is plain pistol grip with crecent butt and grip cap. The magazine is full length. The serial number indicates it was made in 1902. The dealer is sending me the paperwork from the Cody Firearms records.

The barrel should be exactly 24-inches long (to include the shank that fits up into the receiver frame. Can’t say much else until you cab post pictures of the rifle.

There are links to pictures at the top of the post.

I measured the barrel from the muzzle to the line where the barrel assembly meets the receiver.  I guess the remaining 3/4 inch are within the reciever.

You can’t view the pictures unless you have a Facebook account.
