The Second Amendment, articulating an individual right not only dovetails with the First Amendment and all others, it is absolutely necessary for them to have any meaning. They are simply words without it.
I get angry when I read courts talking about precedent. Like it actually means something. BAH! If it meant anything at all, there would be no Second Amendment cases. The Second Amendment is clear as a bell and it speaks for itself. Even and especially the two allegedly separate parts thereof.

WOW the new firearm legislation has just revealed 10 & 12 gauge shotguns with choke tubes are now banned due to a 20mm limit on bores. Can anyone confirm ?

It is my understanding that this is not true.It is my understanding this pertains to choked tubed shotguns only, and choked tubed shotguns are measured with the choke in ,not out.

20 mm = .787 inch. 12 gauge shotguns have a bore diameter of just .729 inch, and 10 gauge is .775 inch. Accordingly, neither one of them meets or exceeds the 20 mm limit.

Bert, From what I am reading some modern shotguns with interchangeable choke tubes have a muzzle diameter of 20mm. Probably a bit of an oversight by those beaurocrats who wrote up the regulation. Hopefully it will be amended.

It might be possible for a 10-ga barrel to exceed 20mm (.787 inch) with no choke tube installed, but not on a 12-ga barrel.
I would not hold my breath waiting for any bureaucrat to amend an oversight!

I’ve been following this story and out of curiosity I just pulled the choke out of my Benelli Super Sport 12-ga and took the calipers to it.
I.D. is 20.45mm at the muzzle. No idea what the “official” measurement criteria are, probably whatever is most restrictive regardless of how asinine.
For what it’s worth.
