Henry,
I owned that gun for a while back in 2008 and then traded it to my dad sometime after that. It came out of a gun shop in New Braunfels, Texas. He sold it I think on gunbroker about 10 or so years ago. Dont see many carbines lettering with a rifle butt and set trigger, at least I havent in my travels.

Here’s another one I come across in My closet, I think it’s pretty oddball and it’s a decent gun with a beautiful bore. I wonder, Bob, how many would there have been built like this one, I gotta think it wouldn’t be common.
I have 36 with set trigger and rifle butt.

Not sure when 38 was introduced but I assume this is 44WCF?
Rick,
What made you think this was a 38? The letter does not state a caliber so its 44 since that was standard.

Bob I didn’t know what caliber it was but I just learned from you if caliber isn’t stated it’s a 44. Can you advise when 38 was introduced for future reference.
Thanks
Rick
