Don,Great looking rifle in a fantastic short rifle caliber. Its a new one to the survey and fairly scarce configuration. The 38-55’s are only about 9% of the pool.
Is that the long wood?
Thanks Gary. It is the long 9 3/8″ forearm wood. I called Jesi at Cody and everything letters correctly, except no mention of the shotgun butt in the ledger. Is that a common omission? I’m 100% sure it’s correct so I didn’t let that hold me back. I ordered a letter and will post a copy when I receive it.

Ok, it looked long by the pics but I wanted to confirm for my survey.
Another tidbit of info – approx. 19% of the 22″ shorties (in the survey) have the long wood, many of them letterable. I’m not sure on how often the SB is missed in the ledgers but all of mine have showed up correct. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it if the fit is correct and it matches the fore-end wood. You might check for assembly numbers if you haven’t already. Since its a checkered gun, it may have numbers on the lower tang and stock inlet.

Thanks Gary. The fit of the butt stock is perfect and matches the fore-end wood so I’m not worried about it. I’ve never had the guts to remove the stocks in fear of damaging/splintering the wood. Someday, if curiosity strikes, I might have the guts to take a peek, but for now I think I’ll leave it be.
