Not me, my shooting buddy. He likes his 1873’s so I guess it’s natural for him to want an 1876. Haven’t even bothered to research the cartridge yet but the rifle looks pretty sweet, very good bore (he’s a shooter) and finish around 80% or better. Will see if I can find the seller and post a link.

I looked at that rifle in Denver two weeks ago. Nice rifle. I have a high condition deluxe in .45-60, so I wasn’t that interested in another rifle in that caliber. However, I am a sucker for factory sling swivels, especially on the ’76. That is what caught my eye.

Good to hear, don’t think he’s gotten it yet. We both load & cast for 45-70 but pretty sure the 45-60 is a new cartridge for him and he’s been thinking about an 1876 for awhile.

Wow, sweet rifle! Got to see it today, even though Graham loads and casts he bought a box of BP ammo for it to speed up the process. He fired two shots @ 50, almost into the same hole! He scratched his head a bit and put the rifle back in the case. He’s one happy camper but I don’t know when I’ll see that rifle again, lol. I figure he’ll clean it and hang it on the wall.

Hang it on the wall? I thought you said he is a shooter? Two shots doesn’t make a shooter, especially when a good rifle’s encountered.?

I agree, apparently he does too. Brass and dies arrived this week. Apparently I’m a good and/or bad influence on him, many of the rifles he shoots these days have been displayed on the walls of his study for 10-20 years or more. I tell people it sometimes looks like we robbed a museum on the way to the range.
