I don’t know if You can tell by My pictures but it is untouched I believe. I’m accumulating quite a rack full of ’73’s.

Henry,

About 10% of the 22’s are 22 longs. As to the value, the pictures are reflecting light and is causing the gun to have a blue cast so I can’t tell how much blue is on the gun.

I would say about 80-85% blue a little lesser on the mag. tube.

Thanks Bob, that’s kind of the neighborhood I was thinking. It really is a handsome ’73

Damn, that the Holy grail for any Winchester 22 collector. Don’t think I’ll ever clear that purchase with the wife. Beautiful 22 you have there.

Congrats, Henry. That truly is a worthy addition to your growing collection of outstanding 1873’s. Any idea what made you become an 1873 collector? 😉

I’m really not collecting ’73’s. I am working on a collection ,(display), of all the pre 1900 lever guns in carbine, rifle and musket configuration, in the process of “bettering ” I run across a collection being pieced out. I know the desireability of the ’73 so I’ve been buying up some of the better ones and will eventually trade or sell them off. It will be easier when the borders open up and I can get to some shows State side again. The hell of it is I’m starting to get a fancy for them.

Yes, that is the hell of it.  That’s how it goes.  These pieces are just so darn desirable.

When a nice piece (or collection) comes along and it fits your plans that’s a good thing. Enjoying and learning about them is nice, too. I had an awesome run of luck a couple of years ago but nothing like what you’re finding. Congrats!
