I am updating links in this old post (no more Photobucket access).
I recently had the opportunity to obtain a replacement short carrier for one of my
solid frame first model 1890 rifles. These are almost impossible to find in any decent original condition. A very good friend and fellow collector, who has access to a vast amount of state of the art machine tooling agreed to produce a limited amount of these carriers. He graciously sent me one to see how it would install and work in my 124 yr old rifle.
Here is a quick picture of the new carrier next to the old broken one.

Unfortunately, my friend has no more carriers available.
Rustyjack, My name is Bob Sullivan. I’ve been searching for 1st model carrier for my 1890 #15xxx for several years. No luck. Any chance of obtaining one through willieb?
