We recently inherited a solid-frame 1913 Winchester 1897 and soon realized that virtually all of the available documentation covers the take down model.  I’ve found several good sources of information on this shotgun.

Two War Department manuals have extensive coverage of this gun.  

The 1942 Technical Manual TM 9-285 can be as a PDF at
