I was wondering where I might be able to buy a takedown collar (extension) c/w the three adjusting screws for a fore stock on a 86 takedown project I am working on. I could also use a nose cap for a heavy octagon barrel as well. Any ideas out there? Thanks very much Texas MacDonald..
That’s me…. Bottom line is that finding an original TD lug is getting harder, especially on that is not completely wore out. The TD lugs were also hand fitted at the factory to the frames.
I do make them, but they will need to be fitted, and there is a difference between the black powder frames and smokeless powder frames.

Hello Mike, I was hoping to use a frame from a 45-70 serial no, 126xxx which I make as 1902 or else I have one in 33 Win. serial no. 151xxx which I make as 1911. Not sure when the black powder frames stopped as per serial number or year. Perhaps you could let me know.
I do have an older 1886 in 45-90 serial no. 245xx that I make in 1888 and that may be blackpowder but its not a takedown.
Being new on here how do I ask you how much it would cost for you to make a TD lug? I can do the final fitting. Can I send you my personal e-mail address or is that allowed on here? What state are you located in?
Thanks Texas..
