OfflineBecause Winchester listed and sold sling eyes as a separate item, I am of the belief that many of them that we encounter today were installed outside of the factory. Period installed Winchester sling eyes are not much of an issue (in my opinion), but modern “Uncle Mike’s” or similar are a significant detractor.

OfflineBert,
As a Collector, you bring up a very good point.
In more of the modern day world of shooters and hunters, the Uncle Mike’s swivels and it’s attachments are fine, but not on the collectable pieces that we enjoy. I to get irritated by their detracting on an older specimen.
With that said, the older all original and correct, UN-bubba’d pieces that we enjoy, can be a little harder to find, but well worth it. IMO!

OfflineI Will wish You “good luck” Robert, I’ve had that sling for quite a while and haven’t seen another since. I have several sets of “J” hooks but only the 1 complete sling, they’re tough to find, I’d have 8 more if they were available.

OfflineI have located the eyes , and hooks . If I can get the dimension of the leather sling, I will make it for my use on this project until I can find an authentic Winchester sling. Would anyone know the dimensions of the front screw washer for a Lyman 21 sight ? I can’t find a clear picture, or description of what type washer it is. Thank you.
