Noob question.  How much does a professional restoration effect values with Win rifles?  My experience with WWII rifles and pistols is it greatly effects value and is usually frowned upon.  I understand an original will always be the preferred standard if you can afford it.  Would the rifle be at least worth the $$ that was put into the restoration?  Exception is if you get carried away or try to restore a “parts” gun.

On a deluxe grade you might be able to recoup the restoration cost if it was done correctly but on standard grade guns you end up going in the hole. Since it cost the about same to restore a deluxe as it does a standard grade just that the wood will add to the deluxe. Now if you have a restoration that does not turn out good you definitely lose money. Its like restoring old cars, some cars are not worth restoring.
