There was a recent thread about how to reinforce the wrist on a broken buttstock, so I thought I’d share this video. This nice 1886 came into the shop with a buttstock that had previously been completely broken at the wrist and glued back together. The owner was worried about the strength of the repair, so we installed some dowels and pins to strengthen it up. We were able to hide the repairs, including one that was very deep and presented a challenge to get the epoxy into the bottom of the hole.
I’ve not been sharing episodes on the forum lately unless they’re relevant to recent threads or of particular interest to Winchester collectors. If you’d like to catch all the episodes, go to YouTube and subscribe to “The Cinnabar” and click on the little bell. You’ll get a notification when new episodes are posted. Mark
