I’m no expert on sling eyes. Most of the older lever guns I see have the inletted sling swivels. The sling eyes were more of a aftermarket add on sold by Winchester and they were put on by the factory if so ordered. Kirk, what does the gun letter with? Does it say sling eyes or sling swivels. Most of the older guns I have seen in the records just say S & S (sling swivel). If its not mentioned they were added afterwards which happened quite often and does not hurt the gun as long as they are placed correctly.

I would go with the ones that match the finish the best.

Louis,

I did see Bobs’ reply before the upgrade monster ate it. Even more strange is the long post I thought was also gobbled up in now back.

Like you sense of humor.

Thanks again for the help and the sling swivel screw.

Cheers

Kirk
