I was in my local Kubota dealer today replenishing my spare parts and picking up a few items I found damaged or damaged during a recent torture session under my little tractor. I almost didn’t notice the Kroil cans lined up on the parts counter because they were of course painted in a shade of orange very similar to Kubota orange. They even assigned it a Kubota part number! Yep, had to snag a can; I very much like the little drip cap topping the can. Kinda pricey but I only use a few drops now and then and none of the usual stops on my trap line keep it on the shelf.

I found the aerosol cans at a local farm store.  Goes a lot faster.  I use it a lot on just about everything.

I stocked the aerosol when I worked for an OE car dealership, most mechanics swear by PB Blaster. I don’t like using aerosols in the room where the magic happens. Last can I ordered online leaked so I had to install a drip nozzle and a ziploc bag. This one isn’t leaking yet and has a useful cap.

The aerosol Kroil has never been anything for me but trouble, either the can leaks or the propellant disappears before you’ve even used half of it. They even replaced an old can of mine for me once for free but the replacement eventually did it too.

There’s some good competing products these days too…according to Project Farm’s YT. 🙂

Kano Labs is a relatively small company and as a small business owner these days I like to support them. None of my suppliers back then carried their products so I dealt with them directly. Technicians like aerosols so Kano makes them and I stocked them. I don’t know why one of the best penetrants on the market today comes in a soldered steel can but what do I know…other than my room where the magic happens will always smell like Kroil!

Amazon carries it.  AMEX has a deal with Amazon where Amazon can display your Amex “reward dollars” next to your card, if you have that up with Amazon as a payment option.  Whenever I’m “in the neighborhood”, about to order something, if I see I have a few reward bucks, I add a drip can of Kroil to the order and pay for it with the credits. I never want to be without Kroil.

If it doesn’t move and it should — Kroil.

If it shouldn’t move but it does – Loctite.

Thanks to Amazon and the interest accrual rules of other credit cards AMEX is becoming one of my favorite credit cards. I had a fair size pile of AMEX reward dollars before Amazon suggested I use them for a purchase. I always work it so shipping is free, even without Prime. I’m out of Kroil and my Amazon cart isn’t full enough for free shipping. Hard to believe I started dealing with Bezos when he was peddling used and out of print books and Potterfield when he mailed out a little flyer of reloading supplies now and then. AMEX reward dollars are almost as much fun as Cabela’s points! I know business owners who use a Cabelas card for business purchases and have enough points to buy a bass boat. I like supporting my local Kubota dealers. They support local causes and employ some good people.

Years ago I bought an aerosol can of Kroil… but like Jeremy experienced, it leaked and the propellant leaked off.  I pitched it and bought the drip can… I still have it after 15+ years!  A little definitely goes a long way when you only use a few drops at a time.

My old can likely predates the drip can cap, I swiped one from a 3M adhesive remover can. Extras came in almost every case. I had to use WD-40 on a stuck fastener this past weekend. Can’t recall what I was working on but it finally worked before I had to fetch the big hammer.

I need a drip can for the gun room.  The aerosol is in my shop where I work on tractors and what have you.  When something doesn’t move with gentle pressure, I go get it and take a break while it soaks.

I’ve been using Kroil oil for years. My son, who runs a maintance shop for a major airline turned me on to it.

The stuff really works. I have a “drip can” that has lasted for a few years. Still about 1/2 full.

I found a small shallow glass jar with a screw on top, squirt some in the jar and with a “Q-tip”, I’m good to go.

For bigger applications, same jar with a small disposable paint brush from the local hardware store.

Just sayin’ ………………
