Ive got a 1893 Model 1892 with a blown out barrel bore. Very heavily pitted. I was thinking of re-lining it but, if I found a suitable, used original barrel for it, what are the odds that just swapping it with my old one will give me the proper headspace and front sight alignment?

I’ve seen some barrels on Homestead’s parts site, hard to say if they have one with the correct markings. If they don’t list it, call. Guns of that era had considerable hand fitting so getting the correct headspace may be tricky but I honestly don’t know. Last time I was in your situation I used Taylor Machine up in Bert’s part of the world to install a liner and I’m very satisfied with his work. His work is very difficult for the casual observer to spot but in my case it’s just a fun shooter that will never be mistaken for an original gun.
