Replacing a buggered loading gate screw on an 1894

Is there anything that I should be concerned about when attempting to replace a buggered loading gate screw on an 1894? It looks like it should be just a simple swap, but just want to make sure something doesn't go "BOINNNGGG" when I remove the screw.
