I picked up a real decent model 94 made in 1951. Only draw back is someone lightly etched there drivers lic number in the bottom. What are my options for this fix? This gun was purchased by me from a local gunshop.

Unfortunately, there really is not a "fix" that will help the gun any. Is it a 30-30 WIN, and with the short forend stock?

You have two choices, have the Link refinished which probably will not match when your done or buy a replacement from someone parting out a gun if you can find one that matches.

My grandfather in his infinite wisdom etched his Drivers license number on his Beretta shotgun in 19 places (even the gas piston had it on it) In one of those stupid kid moments I missed paying the interest on it at the pawnshop by two days.

I went to the shop willing to pay what ever they were asking for it to get it back.

The owner said he had spent an hour with a grinder removing all the numbers so he could sell it to some guy who offered $75.00 if the owner could get the numbers off it.

Lesson learned. No firearm ever went to the pawn shop again. No matter how far behind on whatever bill we were.

I would purchase a replacement part from another Winchester being parted out.

I would search eBay for "Winchester 94 Link"

I found this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WINCHESTER-Pre-64-Model-94-Link-USED-/201149598215?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed5734a07

I don’t know if there are any differences in serial number ranges or calibers, someone else might chime in about that. If you can get the seller to take a picture of it in sun light, that will get you a better idea of what the blue looks like.

That’s an easy fix, either by polishing it out and rebluing or get a replacement part. Try Gun Parts Corp, or I might have a decent looking one.
