I picked up this 1894 src the other day that is missing a few parts. I replaced the stock screw, lower pivot pin and stud. hammer spring and screw. Come to find out the carrier is missing! Ebay has a few for the 30-30. so I'm going to order one.
BUT, looking at some videos it seems I dont have a finger pin. the rifle has the cap screw but no pin. as I look inside the workings of the gun. if I put a pin in place, the bolt will be in the way, I'm not sure if the bolt has a hole in it but if it got pinned in ace the bolt would not move.
Am I missing something here? does a early carbine not use the pin? the cap basically sits flush with the bottom of the guide on the left. the access hole goes thru the guide on the right. Any protrusion from the cap would keep the bolt from moving past it.
I'm sure I've got some of the terminology wrong, but any help is appreciated. thanks again jim
