Most likely you shouldn’t have to take the gun apart to clean it.  Once the parts are exposed spray them then use a tooth brush or Q tip to clean them.  Once clean use some oil.

You’d be surprised how well a good oil like Breakfree CLP works just by itself.

No, it retracts mechanically.  If it’s not broke, advise you don’t undertake to fix it.  Getting the block & extractor back into position after removal is a PIA even after you’ve done it several times before.

Thanks Clarence, I could not see it sticking out the front of the block and it moved very easily when I pushed it in from the hammer side.  It must be a shallow pin.
