I just renewed my WACA membership, however, when I went to do so, it appears that my membership had already lapsed even though it is not Dec 31st yet. I purchased a new membership anyway for 2017, but there was no place to indicate my current membership number, #9404. If someone knows how to contact the person who handles the membership, I’d like to let them know I already have a number.
I see, also, that I am now a guest on this forum, so my usual ID is Win38-55, member #9404.
Slightly off topic as I cannot help Win38-55 with his problem…
But his post caused me to look at my own membership status, and when viewing the renew/upgrade membership page I see 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year options. But no a life membership option. Is that b/c there is a vetting process involved in life membership? If so, is there an application process?
Maybe I wanna “Be Like Bert”, except for course for not knowing as much…

Lou,
There are a limited number of Life Memberships, and we have been at that limit for several years. That stated, I believe that there will be a small number available in the near future. Several members of the Board of Directors were tasked with contacting/verifying how many of our Life members are actually still with us. After that has been resolved, the BOD will discuss how many new Life members we can sustain, and how to go about making them available. In the interim, the 5-year renewal option is the best deal.

Hi Bert-
Thanks for the explanation. I did not find anything on the website that clarified this point. I was trying to figure out if WACA was like the NRA or the ASCI when it came to membership status.
On balance, I’m a bit leery of ‘elitist’ organizations… On the other hand, I’m a big fan of Groucho Marx statement “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member”!!!
