With a iphone I can select photos from the icloud, files on the phone, google drive or take a picture and attach it to the post by clicking the paperclip and navigating to the photo. Dragging a photo to another app is supported in the iphone by going to the photo and clicking and holding on the photo, keeping a finger on the photo and use another finger to navigate to the other app and then dropping the photo in it. The problem is both apps have to support it and with the WACA site it does not. I can drop a photo to the WACA forum post but it does not show so I assume it will not work so you would have to use the paperclip and pick the photo from the source. Maybe someone has figured it out and I just got the a iphone and am still learning what it can do.

When you have the photo in the box to upload them it will show the file size under the file name of the photo.

You multiply that out and you get a little over 12 meg which is quite a large file. I know the old forum you had to be under 3 meg. So you have to resize the pic or take another photo at a lower resolution.

I’ve tried everything to post pics from my iPhone but no luck. When I tap the paper clip and photo icons and the one between them, what comes up is source or URL or something else and no matter what I do nothing works. I’ve even coped the photo from my album and then tried to paste in the text or these spaces but nothing will insert or appear. Is there a step by step fix for iPhone? I don’t have a home computer.

Rick,
Did you read Post #2 above (Bob posted it). I have zero experience with using an iPhone for anything.

Here is one I got from my linked google drive from my iPhone 13 using the iPhone. If you have the photos in iCloud or just took the picture with your phone it’s easy. Once you have navigate to another source it gets a little harder. The other issue is learning the icons. To post the reply it’s the 3.5” floppy drive icon which some of you never seen before. I still have a computer in the basement that uses 8” floppies.

Hi Bert, yes I read Bobs post but I still couldn’t navigate those instructions. I’ve never had an issue copying, pasting, inserting, etc on any other site ever. ??

I used the navigate to the pictures and select it. Drag and drop does not work but copy and paste will but you have to respect the file size.

How can the file size constraint be eliminated? It prevents me often from posting photographs and I’m too set in my ways to figure out how to reduce file size.
On a phone you have to use third party apps to resize photos unless you have a higher end phone that might be preloaded with picture editing software. I have a base model iphone 13 and it has some editing built into the picture app but I didn’t see any resize option except it has a crop feature which will reduce total file size just by cutting unnecessary parts of the photo off.

One way to eliminate the constraint is to change the settings in the web code. The reason they have it is to save files server space. If you had a high file limit you would run out of server space and have to keep upgrading or added more space which costs money. The other option is to delete old pictures from old posts as you need space.
The only options you have is to change your camera resolution depending on what camera your using or use a photo editor.

I take a lot of pictures on my I phone. I then send them to my email account. When you are doing this the phone asks what size to send. I always send the largest file size. But you can pick a smaller size. Later I can make a copy then using software on my computer I make it smaller for emailing and posting on this site.

I’m glad my Apple products are smarter than I am. I have no idea how it works but it’s pretty impressive for this low-tech geezer. Somehow my iPhone pics show up on my iPad, sometimes I have to send them. When I want to post my pics from the album I can resize the file before I move them by clicking above where the file size is indicated below the pic. Medium or small seems to be adequate for my purposes, if someone wants a high resolution pic I can e-mail it to them. I’m sure different versions work a bit differently, I upgraded from a iPhone 7 and similar vintage iPad recently when I teamed up with Gravity and destroyed my iPad. Since I don’t have a 12 year old handy I just poke around until I figure it out.
Stay after it, mrcvs, if it took much in the way of smarts I’d be out of luck!
