thought it was a Frank Wesson… but it’s different.  Walter Cooper also made one similar… but not exactly the same.  I’ll keep looking…Image Enlarger

The Wesson sight is functional, but your “unknown” ranks as possibly the craziest idea in sight design I’ve seen.  If you had a rough idea of its period, you might find an ad for it in sporting mags of that period.

Sorry this is in the wrong category….. I will try to switch it…. But if there are any moderators that can switch it to the sight or general question category I would be grateful! Oh and flip the darn thing right side up……

Hi Bill,

I got you moved but darned if I can figure out how to flip your photos without downloading them, editing them and re-uploading them.  Before I do that I will wait for a moderator to come along that is smarter than me.  I was hoping to do an edit, click and spin but that would be just too easy….

Best Regards,

Are there any manufacture marks on the bottom of the sight “block” or “saddle”? It looks like something like a DIY-er of the times may have done.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I have the same sight on a Winchester 1894 first year gun, had it many years, no one seems to know who made it. I seen another on a 1886 carbine.

That’s takes it out of the “one of a kind” category.  Owners of those two guns must have seen it advertised somewhere.
