In answer to your question, Yes you can.

The Winchester Model 55 was introduced in June, 1924 and discontinued in December 1932.  The serial number on your Model 55 rifle will tell us precisely when it was manufactured.  Is it a Take Down, or a Solid frame?

If you look under the “Resources” section of this forum, you shall see your Model 55 rifle was made in 1926.

I have no idea what the “Winchester dates app” is, but I highly recommend against using it going forward from today.

Per the original Winchester records, Model 55 S/N 4374 was manufactured in July of 1926.  At that time, all Model 55 rifles were Take Downs.
