Hello Derek,
Can you provide clear detailed pictures of your Model 53 rifle? Please send them to me at [email protected]

Aaron,
The extra holes drilled & tapped in it for the scope are a minimum 50% deduction to the value. For some collectors, it is a 100% deduction, as they will not be interested in it at any price. You did not mention what the graded condition of the rifle is (excluding the extra holes). What is the serial number on this rifle?

Hi
I just saw this post concerning the model 53. I have one in 25-20 that is a Standard Model. with a serial #709. (for your survey)
It’s in nice condition, No rust, No cracks, No breaks ect.. I would put the blue at 85-90% but I think the furniture may have been refinished.
It seems to be a Deluxe model because of the checkered furniture (was this an option?). It also has a Lyman 1″ tang sight & the Marbles adjustable leaf sight & front bead. It’s a Plain grip (Changes/Additions may have been made at some point concerning the checkered work & tang)

Tim,
Factory checkered stocks are very rare on a standard (plain) Model 53 rifle. Can you post (or send me) clear pictures of the rifle?
