Fellows: I just acquired 2 1892’s. One short saddle ring carbine with 20 inches round barrel in 44/40 (1917) and one 24” Octogan barreled in 25/20. The 44/40 was reblued some time ago, but they did a good job on the bluing. The stock is mediocre, so I am making a Claro Walnut Burl stock for it. The 25/20’s stock and barrel are in really good shape. I just sent the receiver, hammer, lever, nose piece, and butt plate out for new case coloring. I am having all the screws Nitre blued, including butt plate screws. The barrel and tube are in exceptional condition for its age.(1910) Both should be beautiful guns when finished. I have another beautiful case colored Octogan barreled 92. A really beautiful gun. Two 1873’s one case colored and one all blue. I have several 1894’s, one trapper SRC in 357 and an old 30/30 I have had for many years. I also collect Colt lightnings, I have three of those. I have Colt Single action Revolvers to go with every pistol caliber rifle that I have.  These are only the tip of the iceberg. I am gun poor!

Welcome to WACA Commissioner

But assure us that “Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service” is not your full title. (Mentioning this for a concerned friend.)

Welcome to the forum.  We’d love to see the finished products when you have them.

I, too, have Colt SAA in all three of the Winchester 1892 pistol calibers. Together they are the central part of a display in my office. (They all go into a safe when I travel).
