I have the above rifle with serial number 312893B. There is a date of March 29, 1866 stamp and the barrel is hexagon shaped. It was my grandfather and it appears to have working parts as it sits in my mother’s closet. Is there any value to it?

Terry,

It does have value but how much depends on its condition. You would need to post some good clear pictures or send them to me. We need to determine how much original finish is left, it configuration and if its been modified in any way to determine a value. At minimum its worth maybe $800 up to $5000 for a standard configuration.
