Can anyone advise if a 16” trapper m1894 circa(1907) could have a standard 9-3/8 forestock?

I believe, more times than not, the 16″ carbines should have the shorter forearm wood.

I just referenced Reneberg’s model 94 trilogy on forends and he states carbines only have two different lengths(9-1/8 & 8-1/8) but “there are also some outliers of this rule regarding 16 inch specimans.”

I’d be very wary, recall reading a post by a WACA member that noted that the 16” Trappers are most commonly faked as they don’t require a BATF exemption.

I probably shouldn’t even speak on the subject of carbines, as I don’t collect those utilitarian looking things (at least not intentionally). For the ’94 short rifles, once you get to 16″ and shorter, more often than not the wood is 7 3/8″, possibly 7 1/8″ on the carbines? Slightly out of my wheelhouse though. My one cent.
