Does anyone know where I can get the George Madis book…The Sight Book? I cannot find it anywhere. Is it out of print? There is one on ebay for 1000.00. Ill buy another gun for that instead of a book. I checked on isdabooks to no avail. Thanks for any info.

I just bought this book from ebay seller kickapoocreekcountycompany. The book arrived in new condition. Quick shipping with tracking. I just used the BIN feature instead of trying to get a “deal”. Paid $40 in total. It’s worth it if you are into sights and a very good complement to Stroeel’s book.

That’s a good price. I bought mine on Amazon for $50 a couple years ago.
They were being sold by WACA for $20 a while back. They must be out now.
The book has many errors, but it is a good reference. Strobels book is better, but much heavier. Big Larry

Stroebel’s has more information than Madis’ but the ideal situation is to use the two in conjunction with one another.

I have found that the best source of information in regards to what was standard and optional for each model, are the original (or reproduction) Winchester catalogs. There are numerous errors in both the Madis and Stroebel books.
